Unique bend makes it harder for fish to shake the hook

Strong, stays Sharp
Only used the #8 so far with two nice side mouth hookups on a couple big browns... Never been disappointed with any product that I've purchased from x Factor and this hook edition makes it easier with one stop shopping... Good stuff good company and shipping is always fast...!

Hook size
I thought these were #10 for trout/salmon. What arrived was size 10/0 for much larger fish like ocean. my fault I suppose so just pay attention to the size?

Mr.
Got the sickle hooks just in time to do some striped and fluke fishins. They are everything I expected and a great addition to my tackle box.

Used them for the first time this spring. I liked these hooks for steelhead, they are strong and seem to stay sharp in the rocky water that fish and they stay pinned pretty good. I think I’ll try some 8’s this fall, the 6’s are OK and the 4’s are a little big for me. And $20.00 per 100 is a little more than I normally will give for hooks.

Q:
Due to gear restrictions on the rivers that I fish I cannot use a hook with a gap between point and shank that is greater than 1/2”. I need to know the gap measurement on your heavy sickle hook in size 4. Also, do you offer 100 packs? What are your shipping rates? Thanks

A:
Hi Mark,
The gap on the #4 is .35" from the shank to the hook point so you should be good there. We're not offering 100 packs at this time but we might in the future. Shipping as of now is the same as it's been for many years ($5.95 flat rate and free over $50).

Q:
Would the sickle hook actually hook and hold a trout if put on a rooster tail spinner in place of the treble hook?
Asked by:
Dave

A:
Hey Dave,
We catch trout on our sickle hooks everyday so the hook wouldn't be an issue on it's own. The problem you might have is that they have a turned up eye (like every octopus style hook) instead of a straight shank. I'd recommend just playing with it to see how it runs on your retrieve. It might be fine or it might be a situation where you want to check it every so often to make sure it's still sitting properly. Hopefully that makes sense, if not just say so and I can try to reword it =)
